2018 Shop Hop Details
Come along, bring your friends and have fun on the Quilters’ Friend Shop Hop 2018!
The Shop Hop is lots of fun, it makes a great weekend away - or cover the shops in a number of days, fun to do as a group or singly, the atmosphere in the shops is fantastic.
The 2018 Shop Hop will run for the whole month of August. Please refer to your passport for individual shop opening times. Groups may contact shops to organise bus trips etc. The Shop Hop this year is comprised of nine shops (see below). Your registration fee ($45) enables you to collect 15 fat eighths in your chosen colourway, You must then visit each store during August to collect them and to have your passport stamped.
Each shop has designed one or two rows for our collaborative Garden quilt. When you visit the shops you will receive the row pattern(s). As you can see from the photos, we have each added a twist to our quilts. If you wish to complete the quilt in the fabrics you have chosen you will be able to purchase a finishing kit from the relevant shop - book ahead to make sure it is ready for you to pick up. You can also make any of the quilt patterns in any of the fabrics - you will need to buy the pattern from the shop that designed the quilt, and then possibly go to the shop whose fabrics you are collecting to get some extra to complete the project. If you have any questions about this just give one of the shops a call.
Alternatively you can just collect the fat eighths - there is no commitment to making a quilt.
There will be a prize basket valued at $150 supplied by each of the nine shops. Participants who complete and return their passports will be placed in the draw which is supervised by the police.
You will also get a 10% discount on most purchases at each store you visit (when visiting to get your passport stamped) during the Shop Hop.
You need to register before the Shop Hop. When you register you will receive a ' passport'. You select which of the nine colourways you would like to collect. You may register at any store. Shops will have ‘look books’ so that you can preview the fabrics and available quilt designs before you register. Registrations will close in mid July to allow us time to cut your fabrics and send them to the rest of the shops.
You can also purchase the fabrics for the 'setting' of your chosen quilt, this is optional. You can pre-book the setting pack for your quilt. Participating Shops are: Quilters' Lane, Masterton;
Angels in Gumboots, Ashhurst;
Village Books and Crafts, Palmerston North;
Aimee’s Homestead, Palmerston North;
Fox’s Cottage, Foxton;
Busy Bee Quilt Shop, Kilbirnie ;
